Sketching Fife
Sketching Fife's motto is "Art for Life – Inspired by Fife".
The artist behind it, Cara Shanley, lives and works in Dunfermline, with Abbot House being her exclusive retail space within the city.
Sketching Fife began on 01 January 2020 with the challenge of doing one sketch of somewhere in Fife every single day of the year. The project quickly took off, with 366 daily sketches posted by the end of the year, and over 400 that year alone.
This has continued to grow, and now the Sketching Fife range includes original artworks, prints, illustrations, gifts and souvenirs across a wide variety of styles and themes. Cara particularly loves sketching from life quickly and intuitively using a variety of media, often in the same piece. She recently showed almost 100 of her sketches in a well-received exhibition in Dunfermline Abbey.
Sketching Fife creates hand-drawn illustrations, designs and merchandise for retail, individuals and organisations – all inspired by Fife.
