Porcupine Upholstery
Paula Graham started Porcupine Upholstery with an upholstery diploma, a love for beautiful fabrics and a desire to save some magnificent pieces of furniture from the skip. Old chairs carry a lot of history and pieces of that story can be revealed as the layers of upholstery are removed to expose the stuffings and frame beneath, as well as the odd old coin and sweetie wrapper. Keeping abreast of the ever changing range of fabrics is a fabulous bonus and Paula loves nothing better than sharing new collections of fabulous fabric choices with clients. A passion for fabrics, from the old tapestry fabrics to newer woven wool, beautiful printed cotton and vibrant velvet, as well as the love for the infinite differences in shapes and forms of solid Victorian and Georgian frames, is something that Paula enjoys passing on through classes at Fire Station Creative. She regularly holds one day classes as well as term time evening and afternoon classes to pass on the ancient skills of the craft of upholstery. All details are on the website.
