Linda Pettie - The hinterlands of the natural world hold the magic that inspires Linda's art. From lofty peaks to pastoral lowlands, both in Scotland and France, her landscapes are a distillation of visual and emotional memory. She very much enjoys capturing those fleeting times of day, soon passing, loving their unique mood. To create her pieces, Linda applies rich layers of oil colour, placing and shaping adjacent marks with brush and palette knife, to try to make the work sing. Linda feels the challenge in trying to achieve this, but knows the joy of being happy with a finished work makes it well worth the journey.
