A few years ago Heidi took the decision to make more time for creating art. She adjusted her work week by dropping Fridays, which for the past two years has been have spent in the Leith School of Art. She is one of the extremely fortunate artists who recently secured a studio in the old Debenhams through Outer Spaces.
Heidi is inspired by the world around her, which means that the subject matter can be endless! She is currently exploring still life, especially the level of abstraction that makes sense to her. In her work she often uses mixed media, combining acrylic paint, collage, pencil and oil pastels. Her process varies between wholly intuitive and semi-planned: Heidi enjoys a process that gives her the freedom to explore and respond to her work.
