Fife(Dunfermline) PrintmakersWorkshop

The Fife (Dunfermline) Printmakers Workshop (FDPW) has been running as an artists cooperative in the basement of the Dell Farquharson Centre since 1981 . The aim of the workshop has been to promote the art of printmaking throughout the community of Dunfermline and beyond . The membership of the workshop consists of a wide range of people who come with various levels of experience and abilities . It includes those who are just starting out and beginning to learn printmaking skills to established artists. Each individual pursues their own path, sometimes with advice and support from others ,all within a very relaxed and creative environment. As a result the workshop produces a diverse range of individual work which is regularly exhibited at various locations throughout the country , sometimes with other workshops , as individuals or collectively as FDPW.
Printing techniques used in the workshop include screen printing , relief ( lino cut) , etching and others . The workshop also offers various printmaking classes , usually at weekends, at various times throughout the year. Further information about the workshop, the courses and what goes on there can be found at the FDPW website . Examples of the members work can also be found at the website in the Artists gallery.
